The Weekend.

January 19, 2009

Our internet at home is busted, so I haven’t gone online in two days. I’m using Nest’s internet, which is also acting up, but still working, which is awesome.

So the UPCAT results came out last Saturday, and Hannah was the one who informed me again. XD I couldn’t check it myself since the internet was busted, so I asked her to check for me, and guess what? I wasn’t admitted. Haha. I used to say I didn’t pass, but my mom thinks I passed and they just don’t want to accept me because I’m home schooled and they’re biased like that. Well. Their loss. Ateneo, here I come~~ =D

Truthfully, after the ACET results came out, I didn’t care much about whether UP accepts me or not. (Right Hannah? Hahahaha.)

So yeah, Yanskeedoodle is a blue eagle. Yay!

I also had my Nihongo final on Saturday. It was a bit sad, because it was our last day as a class. A lot of us are planning to skip Elementary 4 and Intermediate 1 classes because we already reviewed them for the JLPT, and it would save a lot of money to go straight to Intermediate 2. We also won’t have the same teacher when we enroll again. :(

Anyway, I wasn’t confident about the finals, because I didn’t study at all, but by some miracle I managed to pass. We all passed! It’s great.

After the test, I had lunch at Yamazaki(?) with Ann-san, Pola-san, Kichi-san, Nicole-san, and Anson-san, who treated us. :D We talked about starting an Elem4/Intermediate1 study group since a lot of us plan to study those on our own, and that’s exciting. I hope it pulls through; I will miss my classmates.

I went home after lunch, and then got ready for Ate Nadja’s wedding, which was that evening at The Blue Leaf. I rode with Dani and Tita Dongdong, and we got there in time to hear Ate Nadja’s vows. It was a really cute wedding~ Their theme was coffee, and they had a Starbucks booth and everything. Ate Nadja and Kuya Chuck were cute. And Nicole was pretty, and I loved her hair. :D So yeah, that was fun. I photo boothed with Dani, Nicole, Kuya Martin, and Kuya Mike.

Sunday was chaotic. I taught Sunday School with Bianca and Hannah. I don’t know why, but whenever Bianca and I teach, it’s either we have absolutely no students, or we have so many we barely fit in the room. Yesterday, we had fifteen kids. I am seriously thankful Hannah decided to help out because otherwise, we would have died. XD It was fun though, because the kids were more responsive than usual. Just a bit hyper, but I guess that made it fun. I missed teaching, and my first class for this year will not be forgotten. Hahaha.

SHINE!

December 14, 2008

The Sunday School kids had their Christmas play today and they were amazing! Just wow. All that work paid off. The costumes were awesome too; I love everyone who helped us sew all those shirts and work on all the other props.

Today was a long day. After the kids performed, they had their Christmas party, and after they left, some teachers stayed behind for a small party for ourselves. That was fun too, except Chubbs kept fighting with me. Maybe that’s partly what made it so fun. XD That, and we girl teachers played around with the angels’ wings from the play. And the food was yummy. Lasagna and roast beef and.. **mouth waters** and that frozen mango bravo. Yum yum yum. Today was the last day I was seeing Bianca for the year, because she’s going to Brunei next Saturday. :(

The party ended at around 2:30, and I had to wait in church until around 4, because my family forgot to fetch me. Haha. I hung out with Kuya Martin and Leah and Rachel for a while, then when they left I stayed in Teacher Dongdong’s area and took a nap.

Then I finally got picked up, and we went to my aunt’s house where we stayed until dinner. Then we went home, and while we were in the car I saw the moon, and it’s so big and bright tonight. :p

I’m a bit tired, because I wasn’t able to sleep very well last night, and then I woke up early, and then all those things happened today, so yeah.

I did not get to review for JLPT at all this weekend. Saturday, 9am-12nn, I went to Nihongo class, which was lots of fun. 2pm-7pm, I was at church sewing shirts with Bianca, Nicole, and Camelot. This was fun, we pigged out on Planters peanuts and Pringles and Pocky and laughed a lot. XD 8pm-10pm, I had dinner with the Arces, because Tito JC is here with Tita Meg and Jace? Jase? I’m not quite sure how you spell his name but my cousin is adorable. :D So yeah. I was tired when I got home.

And it’s not like I could study when I got home even if I wasn’t tired, because Camelot gave me something to think about. I’ll write about that another time, maybe, but not now.

Sunday, 9am-3pm, went to church, sewed more shirts. XDD There were more of us here, so it was fun, and I think we’re getting a lot more done. Bianca, Nicole, Hannah, Camille, Rachel, Leah, Teacher Elen, Teacher Bong, Louie, Miko, Dar, Jacob, Mika’s yaya, Ate Nadja, and Tita Gigi(Louie brought a shirt home to finish it, but I believe it’s going to be his mom doing it instead XD I want Kuya Martin to do it though, so he knows what he’s missing. XDD) are helping us out. We love you all so much right now. Oh, Gabriel and Dani hung out with us too. They didn’t sew, or anything, they were just there. XDD And Kuya Ralph.

After sewing shirts, I went to Rafa’s house, where we stayed till dinner. We got home around 7, but I didn’t get to study because I was a bit tired, and Hannah loaned me Breaking Dawn, and Jonty let me borrow Sandman 1-4.

I was reading Breaking Dawn last night, and it was…. weird. I didn’t read the whole thing, I skipped a whole lot of parts. I read enough to know what it was about thoguh, and yeah. I dunno, it was weird, and I don’t think anyone below 13 should be reading it.

It’s rather disappointing that my generation’s definition of the ideal man has been changed to cold, stony, and… I have to say it, sparkly. (Sewing with Bianca Benavidez for hours on end did this to me. XDD I love you, Bianca.) And that love is now closely related to obsessed/addicted, which is what Edward and Bella’s relationship is like. It sends the wrong message to the girls who read it. And I don’t like how they compare Twilight to Harry Potter. Can you NOT? (haha, Hannah, Dani, Halilis, you guys.) They don’t exactly fall under the same genre, and even if they did, Twilight can’t beat Harry Potter, ever.

It’s raining really hard today, and I have a headache, and I can’t study. o_o

I am going to do 4 chapters of Minna no Nihongo later, even if I have to stay up till 2 in the morning again.

… Okay maybe not. But yeah. Four chapters.

Oh, and my tummy feels better now. :D
